The debut project aims to facilitate the path to self-publishing for young creators by providing technical and contextual support.

SLOVENIAN PHOTOGRAPHERS 1839-1880

Expert photomonography is the result of a network of private collectors, experts and public photographic collections and presents a comprehensive overview of early Slovenian photography.

PUBLISHING

The publishing activity of the Lux Pictura Institute is based on the establishment of a creative space where we could provide quality publishing support for photomonographs by young creators, professional monographs on photography, and assist in the publishing of freelance writers in Slovenia, and thus take outstanding photographic creations beyond our borders and existing channels for sharing such content.

PHOTOGRAPHIC DEBUTS

If painting has freed itself from the shackles of the documentary, the recreated, with the rise of photography, the medium of the book is being transformed in a similar way with the development of digital media. The book remains and is becoming a new medium, and Lux Pictura would like to enable young artists to publish their first photomontages to help them present their work in a fully conceived form, with the support of our collaborators who help with the layout and printing of such works.

Submit a concept

Create a concept for your publication, which will be the basis for joint creative work. Include the basic technical outline of the book, the collaborators you would like to include in the edition, your ideas for the presentation and accompanying events, exhibitions, lectures, talks.

Take advantage of our services

We support analogue photography and alternative photographic processes, so we are also available in technical terms to develop and scan your photographs and prepare them for final publication.

Graphic layout of the book

We work with excellent graphic designers who are available to help you with the graphic design of your photomontography.

Printing of the publication

We help young creatives to work with printers and create the conditions for a great edition of your print publication, working with the best.

Events and promotion

We support and promote the resulting publication and seek partners for its marketing and further presentation, while actively organising related events and photographic exhibitions.

Publishing and marketing

At Lux Pictura, we take care of the quality publishing of your book, as well as the appropriate marketing online and in physical stores, in cooperation with our business partners.

    The professional photomontography with the working title "Slovenian Photographers 1839-1880" is the result of a collaboration of private collectors, experts and official institutions, which together shed light on the first decades of the development of photography in Slovenia.
