WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Lux Pictura, Institute of Photographic Research is a non-profit private institute led by Žan Koprivnik, where we are creating a community space for contemporary and alternative photographic practices, run photography workshops, invite lecturers and experts and organise events with them, and our profit-making activity is based on offering a wide range of photographic services: drum and regular scanning, developing photographs and negatives, individual and group portraiture in one of a number of techniques (analogue, digital, wet process on glass), repair and rental of photographic equipment, renting out studio space and organising events and exhibitions.
Žan Koprivnik
Žan Koprivnik is a university drama actor working at the Slovene National Theatre Maribor and the director of Lux Pictura, an institute for photography research. His photographic pursuits began at an early age, when he came into contact with his grandmother, a photographer, and got his first analogue Flexaret camera, which became the basis for his further interest in photography. In 2021, he founded Lux Picturo with the desire to create a space for the exploration of photographic practices, collaborating with many individuals and institutions that have a significant impact on the Slovenian photographic landscape.
