How to prepare film for shipping?

For anyone sending analog film to our studio for development and scanning for the first time, there is the dilemma of how to properly protect the sent films so that they arrive safely at our location. Here is a short list of guidelines to help you choose the right procedures.

Fill in the form with your contact details and information about the contents of your package. Please make sure you provide important identifiers that will help us to handle each film correctly. Please specify the services you wish to order and your approximate preferences, on the basis of which we will contact you with a quotation. We want to hear what you want, because that's the only way to get the best result.

Secure your films with a zip-lock bag to protect them from the elements during transport. Packages travel long distances and it's important to be proactive with film, because it's the only way to give your photos the premium service they deserve.

The best way to protect your film bag from impact is to use plastic bubble wrap, crumpled newsprint or plastic grocery bags, which will prevent mechanical damage to your film rolls and the contents from bouncing around, which can also be a reason for refusing to accept the package.

Please send your negatives in a cardboard box, as using envelopes is potentially harmful to the contents of your package - the envelope does not act as a protective envelope, it may tear, the contents may curl, overexposure to light may affect your photos, etc. You can avoid all this by using a cardboard box.

You can choose to send the parcel yourself or let us organise it for you, which we recommend. In any case, it is important that you provide a tracking number for your package to help us intervene in the event of temporary loss of your package. If you choose to send your parcel through us, please fill in the form with the collection details and expect your parcel to be collected at your desired address by professional couriers (GLS, DPD, DHL). Transport time depends on a number of factors, but within the EU you can expect your parcel to arrive within 3 working days. The price of sending a parcel within Slovenia is € 5.00 / up to 2kg, the price of sending a parcel from EU countries is € 15.00 /2kg.

When sending your package and the related documentation, we ask you to provide as much information as possible that could affect our services, let us know your wishes, preferences, anything you think is important to mention. At the same time, please note that it is also possible to send larger quantities of film than 2kg at a minimum higher price, so don't be afraid to send several projects at the same time. Before developing, scanning and other services, we will contact you to discuss the details of our work, as we want satisfied customers who will come back again and again.
